PREPARATION AND UPLOAD OF FINAL MANUSCRIPT

Your final manuscript and copyright form must both be uploaded via the EDAS paper portal: http://edas.info/. No upload facility is available on the SPCOM 2012 web site.

1. Submitted manuscripts should not exceed 5 pages in length, should use font size no smaller than 10 points and should have all 4 margins on a page of width 0.5 inches or larger. The page limit of 5 pages will be strictly imposed. Manuscripts exceeding the five-page limit will not be included in the conference proceedings. Authors are encouraged to use LaTeX to format their manuscripts, using the style file and example below. Authors using other means to prepare their manuscripts should attempt to adhere to the style of the example as closely as possible. To view the style, print out the file 'spcom2012_example.pdf' below.

  Paper template (.pdf): spcom2012_example.pdf
  Paper template (.tex): spcom2012_example.tex
  LaTeX style file: IEEEtran.cls

2. Next, go to the IEEE PDF eXpress site at www.pdf-express.org to obtain an IEEE PDF eXpress certified PDF file of the final manuscript. Click on the link "New Users - Click Here", fill in your information and create a new account. You will need the Conference ID, which is: spcom2012x. (Note the `x' at the end.) There are two ways of using IEEE PDF eXpress: you can either upload your source file(s) for conversion, or upload your PDF for checking. Once the PDF file is approved, the file properties will say "Content Creator: `Certified by IEEE PDFeXpress at (date) (time)' ". This verifies that your file is IEEE Xplore compatible. Please note that only IEEE PDF eXpress certified PDF files must be uploaded to EDAS as the final manuscript.

3. Submit your IEEE copyright form. For your convenience, the IEEE copyright form is made available electronically through EDAS. Follow the steps given below to upload the copyright form.

  • Upon receiving the acceptance notification email, log in to EDAS and click on the "My papers" tab at the top of the webpage. You will see a list of your papers currently available on EDAS. Click on your accepted SPCOM paper title. In the properties column (extreme left-hand column), there is a Copyright option (right below the "Status" property) marked with a +. Clicking on the + sign will take you directly to the electronic copyright submission portal. You will be asked a few questions, which you can answer by selecting the appropriate checkbox. Simply follow the steps to complete the copyright submission process, which takes less than a minute. Only the corresponding author of the paper through whose EDAS account the paper was submitted can sign the copyright form.

Note: Copyright forms are accepted only through EDAS. Copyright forms sent by fax or email will NOT be accepted.

If you have multiple accepted papers to SPCOM 2012, you will be required to submit the copyright form for each paper separately.

For authors who are not authorized to sign a copyright transfer form, please pass on the link to e-copyright submission (obtained when you click on the + button near the Copyright property) to the authorized signatory. Note that the authorized signatory must have an EDAS account to submit the copyright form.

[If necessary, you can download a paper version of the copyright transfer form from http://www.ieee.org/publications_standards/publications/rights/copyrightmain.html.]

4. Submit the final, IEEE PDF eXpress-certified PDF(s) via EDAS. Final papers MUST be uploaded by May 11, 2012 May 16, 2012. THE SIGNED IEEE COPYRIGHT FORM AND THE CERTIFICATION BY PDF EXPRESS ARE BOTH ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY. Failure to comply with any of the steps mentioned above will likely result in your paper getting excluded from the Conference Program, Proceedings, and IEEE Xplore.

5. REGISTRATION: At least one author per paper must register in full by May 11, 2012 May 16, 2012 for the paper to appear in the final program and the proceedings. You must register and pay before uploading the final manuscript - EDAS will not allow you to upload your manuscript otherwise. Regular registration for Conference is required even for papers with only student authors. One regular conference registration can cover up to three papers.

You must register and pay before you upload your final manuscript. If you are paying by wire transfer or DD, please note that you can upload your final manuscript only after we have acknowledged receipt of payment. So please register and make payment well in advance of the deadline.

For information about registration, click here.

6. Accepted papers must be presented at SPCOM 2012 in order to ensure inclusion in the conference proceedings and IEEE Xplore.

Note that the EDAS site is managed independently of the SPCOM2012 home page, and the webmaster of the SPCOM2012 home page is not in a position to assist with submission or EDAS-related problems. Please direct any queries regarding the submission procedure or other aspects of the EDAS web site operation to help@edas-help.com.
